All four of the men where arrested on or around Feb 13th, 2022.
As of this moment they've been held continuously—without bail—for
Some will say that the nature of the crimes they are accused of (conspiring to murder RCMP officers) is sufficient grounds for keeping them detained.
But keep in mind they aren't accused of actually engaging in any voilent activity.
And while Chris Carbert has priors for drug trafficking and assault, none of the other 3 men have any criminal record whatsoever.
So this leads us to ask: how often do even violent criminals in Canada receive bail?

October 2013
Tom Holden—charged with first-degree murder for his alleged role in the shooting deaths of Lisa Dudley and her boyfriend Guthrie McKay in their Mission BC home—was granted bail.

July 2023
Moses Lewin, had an extensive history of criminal charges and had been found in breach of bail conditions on multiple occasions, was granted bail for charges he received in 2022 that included breaking and entering, motor vehicle theft, flight from a peace officer and dangerous operation of a vehicle. In July 2023—while out on bail—he allegedly attempted to stab someone to death on a crowded Toronto subway train.
